I am passionate about seeing resilient, faithful, and joy-filled church leaders making a difference in their communities for God’s kingdom. Coaching is a key way I can help with this.

Born in the South Island and raised in a church family, I consciously began following Christ while completing a Bachelor of Chemical & Process Engineering (Hons) at Canterbury University. I worked for an international petrochemical company for 5 years in design, operational, and management roles. My problem solving, process design and people skills were tested and developed over that time. I became active as a leader in the church where I made my commitment to Christ. A year after marrying Sue, we both felt called to step out of our careers to attend Laidlaw College. Sue completed a post-graduate diploma and returned to medicine, while I completed a Bachelor of Theology (Hons).

We were called to pastor a small Presbyterian church in rural Southland. During this time, I completed more training and was ordained as a Presbyterian minister. 5 years and 3 children later we were called to a church in the Bay of Plenty. During this ministry season I completed a Doctor of Ministry through Fuller Theological Seminary in California, with special interest in spiritual growth in a post-modern world. After 11 years in the Bay, I accepted the role as senior pastor in a multi-site, multi-staff Presbyterian church in Dunedin, where we served for 15 years.

Sue and I have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren. We love spending time with them and seeing our children raising the next generation to know Christ.

Over 30 years of church ministry has given me wide experience in supervision and coaching church leaders in a range of settings. I love to help people discover how God is at work in their lives and ministries.
