Ngā mihi kia koutou katoa. I am from English, Scottish and Australian descent and grew up migrating from small town Whakaoriori (Masterton) in Aotearoa to Tamaki (Auckland) where I was educated, married and had my two daughters. I now live in Poneke, Wellington – the home of my ancestors and spend my down time gardening, swimming, hiking, enjoying theatre and writing poetry. My background includes HR recruitment, community development and youth work and governance work within the Anglican Church of Aotearoa, NZ and Polynesia and in the not for profit sector.

I am an ordained Anglican Priest, leading a small pioneering mission venture in Lyall Bay. I am a practical theologian who has been formed and shaped by both my theological training, and lived experience – with my vocation best expressed at the intersection of the street, sanctuary and seminary. My life has been deeply impacted the effects of alcoholism in my loved ones and its resulting impacts on my mental health and need for recovery. My journey in 12-Step Spiritually and my formation as an Anglican Priest during my time at St John’s College has been deeply formational and led me to explore the efficacy of the programme and what the church can learn from it as a legitimate spiritual formation programme, and now – how its values of honesty, openness and willingness are congruent with biblically grounded faith communities in a Masters of Professional Practice in values based leadership.

Throughout my formation I was coached by a member of the International Coaching Federation and have flourished in this space. I have both informally and formally coached and mentored people both as a Strengthsfinder Coach and in my role as a Ministry Unit Leader – and believe in the importance of faith based leaders engaging in a space of accountability and good questions that ensure we are then not working our formation out on those we serve.
