My family hails from Otago, though we relocated to the North Island when I was 12. We moved across the Cook Strait due to my dad responding to an invitation from Jesus to serve in ministry, and here began my life inside the world of church leadership. After a stint as a family at Faith Bible College, my parents then moved us to Taranaki and planted MountainView Vineyard — the church they still pastor to this day — and I vividly remember giving my own life to following Jesus as a teenager there. Responding to this invitation to follow Christ has been the greatest adventure of my life, and continues to be so.

I am married to Gabrielle, and we have two wonderful tamariki; Jimmy and Florence. We live in Hillcrest, Auckland, where we share our home with my mother-in-law and our dog, Cash. Home is a fun, full and loud place

When I left home I moved to Auckland, and became a youth pastor at Shore Vineyard, and then assistant pastor a few years later. Many formational and developmental experiences happened for me in this community, and I loved my decade serving there. In 2015 I followed in the footsteps of my parents and planted Central Vineyard, a church that has sought to make Christ central in all things and endeavors to see people pursue Jesus and play their part in what God is doing in the world, right now. I have the pleasure of co-leading and pastoring this community along with my wife Gabrielle, and two of my best friends, Rob and Alisha Wiseman.

During this journey I have also served Vineyard Churches Aotearoa New Zealand in various capacities and spaces, studied part time, and enjoyed many other connections with other pastoral friends and networks. I love the whole church and believe that together our great mission in ministry is to today make a culture of Christoformity; communities, spaces and environments in which people may become like Christ more and more.

I seek to help those who are asking questions of their leadership moment they find themselves in. Questions, ideas and exploration of options do not phase me, rather, excite me. We might explore calling, or strategy, or next steps. I have always been a “what next?” kind of leader, so I can resonate with these moments, and am keen to make the right space to explore what Jesus is inviting you towards. I look forward to discovering this with you!
